Iconic New Zealand confectionery brand, RJ’s, has been working closely with Mondelez International to ensure the future of a Kiwi favourite.

Both companies are delighted to announce that, from October, JAFFAS will remain in the New Zealand market as part of RJ’s suite of products.

Due to current manufacturing capabilities, initially, JAFFAS will be made under license by RJ’s sister company, Darrell Lea in Sydney, Australia. RJ’s are hopeful of bringing full production back to New Zealand and are currently exploring ways to do this as part of its growth plans for the NZ market.

This is another very exciting step for RJ’s in the New Zealand market and follows the recent brand acquisition of Black Knight, Fabulicious, Heards, Mackintosh and Oddfellows.“This is extremely exciting for consumers and the RJ’s brand”. Mrs Law added, “It has been great to work with Mondelez to find a solution to keep the popular Jaffa’s product in New Zealand,” said Amy Law, NZ sales director.

Paul Chatfield, Associate Director of Everyday Chocolate at Mondelēz International said the business is proud to be able to give RJ’s stewardship of the JAFFAS brand in New Zealand.

“We’re excited to work with RJ’s to keep the JAFFAS brand strong in New Zealand, particularly because RJ’s has a proud Kiwi heritage. We were committed to ensuring consumers could still get their hands on the most fun chocolate orange ball ever, and we’ve achieved that with this agreement,” said Chatfield.
