A BREXIT trade minister rubbished claims that Britain will struggle to replicate its trading relationship with the EU after Brexit with other countries around the world, insisting that trade consultations had already been opened with "large-scale" deals on the horizon.

George Hollingbery, who serves as Minister of State for Trade Policy, backed Britain to surpass the trade it currently has with the EU after Brexit.

The Tory MP, who joined Theresa May on her trade tour to Africa, was responding to claims that the UK will struggle to replicate its trading relationship with the EU.

He revealed that Britain was already in the middle of in-depth talks with several countries to strike "large-scale deals" that would surpass its current trade with Brussels.

During her trip to Africa, Mrs May said she wanted the UK to overtake the US to become the G7's biggest investor in Africa by 2022. . . . . .>
