Feb 13, 2018  - Another month, another record at Christchurch Airport.  Figures just in show the record set in December 2017, for busiest month on record, was beaten in January.

A new record of 195,881 international passengers in January beat the December record by four per cent.Justin Watson, Chief Aeronautical and Commercial Officer, says the record summer is not yet over and Chinese New Year is predicting big passenger numbers.“Forecast Chinese arrivals for the month of February suggest up to 6000 Chinese visitor arrivals, which is a growth of 50%. This equates to an additional $7.5m in visitor spend (based on the average spend of $3800).“This airport is still the fastest growing entry point for Chinese visitors, thanks in part to China Southern Airlines adding more than 60 per cent capacity and our new Cathay Pacific service direct to and from Hong Kong.”
