Trevor Edwards Elected President of The Manufacturers' Network

Trevor Edwards, Managing Director of Superheat Ltd has been elected as the President of The Manufacturers’ Network (formerly NZMEA) at the Association’s 139th AGM.

Trevor takes over the helm from Rick Smith, who completed his two year term as President.

The office holders of The Manufacturers’ Network are now:

  • President: Trevor Edwards, Managing Director, Superheat Ltd.
  • Senior Vice President: Bryn Thompson, Director, Metalcraft Engineering Ltd.
  • Immediate Past President: Rick Smith, Operations Manager, Sutton Tools (NZ) Ltd.

Dr Dieter Adam, Chief Executive of The Manufacturers’ Network says, “I would like to share my gratitude and thanks to Rick Smith for his two years of service as President of The Manufacturers’ Network. Rick has shown extraordinary commitment and put in a significant amount of time and effort, particularly in leading our organisation through a change of name and supporting our members in taking on board Industry 4.0 and other advanced manufacturing technologies.

“We are pleased to have Trevor Edwards move into the role of President, and we are excited to keep working to support, connect and speak up for manufacturers under his leadership and guidance." said Dieter.

President Trevor Edwards said, “I am looking forward to the role of President of The Manufacturers’ Network. Our sector faces a number of challenges and opportunities looking forward, and The Manufacturers’ Network can play a key role in connecting manufacturers to share experiences and understanding, particularly around the rapidly changing technology in our sector.”

Past President Rick Smith said, “I am proud of the work we have undertaken in the last two years and am very happy with the change of our organisation’s name. The new name better reflects what we do and is helping to raise the profile of manufacturing across the country.”
