Feb 21, 2018  -  Over two days, the Produce Marketing Association Australia-New Zealand (PMA A-NZ) is hosting two events for the fresh produce and floral industry in Auckland, New Zealand.  The first event is the PMA A-NZ Fresh Forum & Networking Drinks to take place at La Cigale, The French Market on 28 February. This forum is open to all industry members and is an opportunity to tackle big industry topics through robust discussion between members, guests and the PMA A-NZ board.

If you’re not a member already, this event allows you to experience the inclusive nature and value of PMA A-NZ membership.

Along with the opportunity to network with your industry peers, PMA A-NZ Platinum Member TOMRA Food (previously Compac Sorting Equipment) will present insights into the technology transformation about to boom in the agriculture industry. Head of TOMRA Food, Mike Riley and Digital Marketing Manager and recipient of the 2017 MOYA Marketer of the Year award, Matt Stillwell, will discuss the future of food in the digital era and the application of technologies in everyday agricultural and food processing industries.

The following day PMA A-NZ will descend on the Ellerslie Event Centre to discuss all things technology and Innovation. The morning only PMA A-NZ TECH Event on 1 March will hone in on a range of the most interesting and relevant innovations from some of New Zealand’s leading tech experts.

Speaking of the event, PMA A-NZ Head of Food Safety and Technology Richard Bennett said that “Technology and innovation developments are changing the way the fresh produce industry does business. More mobile connectivity and tools are opening the door to better decision making, more insights and greater opportunities.”

Speakers throughout the morning will offer a variety of case studies. Each presentation will vastly improve your knowledge of what lies ahead for industry and give you a desirable knowledge edge over competitors.

Firstly, T & G Global Limited chief technology and operating officer Jonathan Good will speak on the hype around blockchain and its implications. T & G Global limited is a long-standing PMA A-NZ member and well known as an innovative and industry leading organisation.

Robotics Plus chief operating officer Bram Smith will follow with an overview of the current technology available in robotics and automation – as well as a look to the future.
