The Sharesies team took a radical idea in the share trading space and created a business that has attracted 20,000 investors in just over a year.

The business is continuing to grow at a fast pace and you can find out more about their journey so far from Sharesies co-founder Sonya Williams, speaker at our Business Breakfast on Friday 7 September.“We believe everyone should have the opportunity to grow their wealth, whether they have $5 or $500,000 (to invest),” says Sonya. The company has built an online investment platform that makes it super easy and accessible to trade on the share market. At the breakfast, Sonya will talk about how they identified a gap in the market, assessed the risk and used the power of digital technology to launch a new business. Knowing your customers is something they’ve worked hard at and she advocates that you don’t necessarily need a research budget. She will also share some simple low cost strategies that any business can use. Finally, she’ll cover de-risking your business and how that’s vital in today’s business environment. It’s going to be a fast-paced session with loads of transferable business tips.A seat at the Napier City Council Business Breakfast cost $25, which include a light breakfast and tea and coffee, from 7am.
