Masterton - a town on the up

Longtime local resident, actually an immigrant from the Putara Valley near Eketahuna when asked recently about what is happening in Masterton replied:

Masterton is a bit like every other provincial town with an influx of people moving here so the demand for trades is stretched past the limit.

The timber forestry reading and building of houses has gone mad. There are 4 new subdivisions and a another retirement village on the go.

The Northern end of town is up for a face lift this is the demolition of the Empire Hotel to the library all going and a Big Save shop going in.  At last plans are under way for a new town hall Tumu are building a new complex at Solway so all is great in Masterton.

This is also creating a lot of other services the trains to Wellington have increased carriages to cope with the extra passengers Transit coach lines(Snellgroves Blue Bus )is getting bigger all the time.

The doctors are no longer taking new patients and the honey has gone mad.  Not to mention the vineyards surrounding what used to be a Prohibition Zone in times gone by.  No longer.

And a plug for The Henley MENZ Shed one of the originals we understand.
