Auckland Airport to build a distribution and support centre for Foodstuffs North Island Ltd

Feb 08, 2018  -  Auckland Airport today announced that it will build a new 65,000m2 distribution centre and a support centre for Foodstuffs North Island Ltd. The facility will be developed within Stage 4 of The Landing Business Park and will be constructed over a three year period, with completion scheduled to occur in late-2020. The development will comprise a world-class distribution centre plus a 5-star green-rated support centre, situated in landscaped and park-like surroundings.

Mark Thomson, Auckland Airport’s general manager – property, says, “Eight years ago we set out a long-term plan to develop The Landing Business Park as New Zealand’s premium business location.”“We are delighted to welcome Foodstuffs North Island Ltd to The Landing Business Park. Foodstuffs is a great Kiwi success story and we are thrilled to be partnering with them on this project.”“Today’s announcement fits with our plan and desire to attract quality long-term tenants, who require modern well designed facilities in a high quality environment.”“As part of this Foodstuffs North Island project and the next stage of The Landing works, Auckland Airport will also develop an additional 10 hectares of parkland beside Oruarangi Creek. The parkland will feature walking and cycling tracks for the enjoyment of both our tenants and the public,” says Mr Thomson. The Landing Business Park is a mixed-use business park adjoining the Ascot Industrial Park. In the past 12 months Auckland Airport has completed developments in The Landing Business Park that accommodate the Ministry for Primary Industries, Fonterra Brands, Rohlig Logistics, Agility Logistics, Yusen Logistics and Eden Office.
