Streamline your business travel

Time is precious when you travel overseas for business, so why wait around in queues?

The APEC Business Travel Card provides accredited business people with streamlined access to participating APEC countries.

Cardholders enjoy:

express immigration clearance through special APEC lanes on arrival and departureno requirement to apply for visas or entry permitsmultiple entry to participating countries for a stay of at least 59 days on each visit. For details see the APEC website.

The card is valid for three years and is based on a unique electronic pre-clearance system, providing members with VIP entry into 20 APEC countries.

APEC member economies are committed to enhancing business mobility by exchanging information on regulatory regimes and streamlining immigration processes for business travellers and temporary residence of business people. It is one the areas of the Osaka Action Agenda (OAA), adopted by APEC Economic Leaders in 1995.

In response to the Osaka Action Agenda, the Business Mobility Group (BMG) was formed in 1997 when the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) made the facilitation of business travel a priority. Since its establishment, the group maintains close consultation with the business community, represented by the ABAC, in the development of the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) scheme and other BMG initiatives.

In 2013, APEC Economic Leaders recognized the increasing need for more efficient flow of goods, services, capital and people. APEC intends to accelerate our region’s physical, institutional, and people-to-people connectivity through a long-term commitment. BMG has been tasked to further the work on travel facilitation which includes enhancing the APEC Business Travel Card scheme.
