Air New Zealand signs global deal with STA Travel

Air New Zealand has signed a three-year global partnership with STA Travel, in an effort to drive revenue and promote inbound tourism to the youth and student market.

The agreement will focus on generating sales by leveraging STA Travel’s global distribution network in the priority markets of New Zealand, Australia, North America, Asia and the UK.

“Air New Zealand is very excited to sign this three-year deal with STA Travel which supports our commitment to building long-term strategic partnerships,” said Air New Zealand’s chief sales & commercial officer, Cam Wallace.

“This agreement presents an opportunity to further develop our new markets such as Vietnam, Singapore and Argentina whilst also strengthening existing inbound travel to New Zealand and Australia from key markets like North America, where there is strong demand from the student and youth market.

“In addition to their expertise in the student and youth market, STA Travel’s broader customer segments provide significant opportunity for future growth and we look forward to working together in this venture,” he added.

STA Travel’s director of global air product, John McCoach, commented; “This new three-year global strategic partnership will add value to our target market of young travellers seeking their next adventure to any of Air New Zealand’s increasing number of destinations.”
